OFFICIAL COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. PREAMBLE AND PURPOSE

1.1 This document establishes the official Competition Rules, Regulations, and Terms and Conditions governing the organisation, administration, and participation in the Tournament (“the Competition”).

1.2 The Competition is administered by the duly constituted Tournament Organising Committee (“the Organiser”) and shall operate in accordance with the regulatory framework of the South African Football Association.

1.3 The objective of the Competition is to promote structured football development, fair competition, and national alignment with recognised football governance standards.

 

  1. GOVERNANCE AND REGULATORY FRAMEWORK

2.1 The Competition shall be governed by:

  • The Laws of the Game as issued by IFAB
  • Applicable SAFA statutes, regulations, and directives
  • This Competition Rulebook

2.2 In the event of any conflict, SAFA regulations shall prevail.

2.3 The Organiser shall have the authority to interpret and enforce these rules, subject to applicable governing structures.

 

  1. COMPETITION STRUCTURE

3.1 The Competition shall be organised into age-group divisions as determined by the Organiser.

3.2 Formats may include:

  • 7-a-side
  • 11-a-side

3.3 The Competition format (league, knockout, or hybrid) shall be determined prior to commencement and communicated to all Participants.

3.4 The Organiser reserves the right to amend the format where required for operational or regulatory reasons.

 

  1. REGISTRATION AND ELIGIBILITY

4.1 All teams and players must be properly registered in accordance with Competition and SAFA requirements.

4.2 Player eligibility shall be determined by:

  • Verified age documentation
  • Valid registration records
  • Compliance with Competition rules

4.3 The Organiser may conduct verification checks at any stage.

4.4 Any breach, including age fraud or duplicate registration, shall result in:

  • Immediate disqualification
  • Forfeiture of matches
  • Further disciplinary action where applicable

 

  1. FIXTURES, SCHEDULING, AND MATCH OPERATIONS

5.1 Fixtures, kick-off times, and venues shall be determined by the Organiser.

5.2 Teams are required to:

  • Arrive at least 60 minutes prior to scheduled kick-off
  • Present valid player identification upon request

5.3 Failure to report on time may result in:

  • Match forfeiture
  • Disciplinary sanctions

5.4 Match officials shall be appointed by the Organiser, and their decisions shall be final.

 

  1. MATCH RULES

6.1 Matches shall be played in accordance with the Laws of the Game, subject to Competition-specific modifications.

6.2 Substitutions, match duration, and squad size shall be defined per age category.

6.3 Points allocation (where applicable):

  • Win: 3 points
  • Draw: 1 point
  • Loss: 0 points

6.4 Tie-breakers may include:

  • Goal difference
  • Goals scored
  • Head-to-head results
  • Penalty shootout

 

  1. DISCIPLINE AND CODE OF CONDUCT

7.1 All Participants shall adhere to the highest standards of conduct, sportsmanship, and respect.

7.2 Misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Violent behaviour
  • Abuse of officials
  • Unsporting conduct
  • Disruptive spectator behaviour

7.3 Sanctions may include:

  • Yellow/red cards
  • Suspension from matches
  • Expulsion from the Competition
  • Referral to disciplinary bodies

 

  1. SAFETY AND SECURITY

8.1 The Organiser shall implement appropriate safety protocols at all venues.

8.2 The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Firearms
  • Knives or dangerous objects
  • Illegal substances
  • Alcohol (unless authorised)

8.3 Any breach may result in removal from the venue and referral to authorities.

 

  1. INSURANCE AND RISK

9.1 The Organiser shall procure public liability insurance for the Competition.

9.2 Participation is entirely at the Participant’s own risk.

9.3 The Organiser shall not be liable for:

  • Injury or death
  • Loss or damage to property
  • Any indirect or consequential loss

9.4 Participants are responsible for personal insurance cover.

 

  1. MEDIA, BROADCASTING, AND IMAGE RIGHTS

10.1 The Competition may be recorded, filmed, and photographed.

10.2 By participating or attending, all Participants:

  • Grant full consent for media capture and usage
  • Authorise use for commercial, promotional, and broadcast purposes
  • Waive any entitlement to compensation

 

  1. ENTRY FEES AND PAYMENT TERMS

11.1 Entry into the Competition is subject to payment of the prescribed fee.

11.2 Entry shall only be confirmed upon receipt of full payment.

11.3 The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry where necessary.

 

  1. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

12.1 Withdrawal by participating teams shall be subject to the following:

  • 14 days or less prior: 100% forfeiture
  • 21 days prior: 50% forfeiture
  • More than 21 days: Refunds at Organiser discretion

12.2 No refunds shall be issued for:

  • Non-attendance
  • Disqualification
  • Late withdrawal

 

  1. FORCE MAJEURE

13.1 The Organiser shall not be liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond its control, including:

  • Acts of God
  • Extreme weather
  • Government restrictions
  • Civil unrest
  • Health emergencies

13.2 The Organiser reserves the right to:

  • Reschedule
  • Modify format
  • Cancel the Competition

 

  1. DATA PROTECTION AND ADMINISTRATION

14.1 Personal data shall be collected for Competition administration purposes only.

14.2 The Organiser shall ensure reasonable data protection measures are in place.

 

  1. PROTESTS AND DISPUTES

15.1 All protests must be submitted in writing within a prescribed timeframe (e.g., 24 hours).

15.2 A protest fee may be required.

15.3 The Organiser’s decision shall be final, subject to applicable SAFA processes.

 

  1. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

16.1 Participation constitutes full acceptance of this Rulebook.

16.2 The Organiser reserves the right to amend these rules where required.

16.3 Any matter not provided for shall be decided by the Organiser in accordance with SAFA principles.

16.4 Should any provision be deemed invalid, the remainder shall remain enforceable.

 

  1. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND ACCEPTANCE

By registering or participating in the Competition, all Participants confirm that they:

  • Have read and understood this document
  • Agree to be bound by all rules and conditions
  • Accept all risks associated with participation
